One of Dubai’s most famous attractions is to take you to the desert safari Dubai outside of town for a pleasant evening of adventure, dance and food. Dozens of businesses sell the operation, but all of them are very close. Here’s an insight into what your safari should expect.
4 * 4 Ride and Bus to the Desert
Depending on the company you are booking with, your safari will commence somewhere in Dubai. The desert is only 20 miles away from you by a big tournament bus or a tiny van. Around two to three dozen safari camps, many used by various tour operators, are set up. Fortunately, the desert sand dunes prohibit you from visiting nearby camps, but it’s a rare experience.
When you take the bus on the side of the road, a 4×4 team awaits you for your next trip. This isn’t regular 4X4s – they’ve been able to ride across the sand dunes at high speed with tens of thousands of dollars improvements. You’ll go on a crazy tour across the dunes of your camp when you’re only jumping, sliding and maybe rolling. I have seen more than 4 x 4 blown on his side or a tyre – don’t worry, everybody’s been healthy.
Camel Riding and Quad Bikes
When you reach the camp, you will be attended by a variety of events before you even reach the gate. Most camps are equipped with camel drives and quad bikes, not necessarily inexpensive. The tracks of the quads aren’t that broad but it’s pleasant to slip on the beach. Camel rides can be controversial as eco-friendly events, but I see them personally as a riding trip with the local cattle. There’s possibly even a falcon or two that you can photograph and ask for more cash.
Buffet Dinner
When you get through the camp walls, you probably have a buffet, but this course would just be treats – savory pastries, candy potato fries, and so on. Typically, the whole course comes from the second to the third dance. For dinner, the consistency differs depending upon the camp. A few meat dishes, pasta dishes, different kind of salads and bread, you might possibly hope. Typically, drinks are not included. You will get alcoholic beverages (they’re not consumed on vacation) depending on the day you spend.
Dancing Evening
The dances are by far the best aspect of the night. If all the safaris in the desert of Dubai are the same, I don’t know, so I’ll only explain the one I have been to. The first dance was a dancing belly. But she always was impressive, she wasn’t so offensive as I saw in Morocco or elsewhere. My favorite was the second dance.
It’s called a Tanura dance and essentially a performer spins for 10 minutes straight, changing his outfit, opening umbrellas, turning around his skirts and a lot of other gestures that blew my mind everywhere. The last dance was a fire dancer, and while I saw better on Thailand’s beaches, it does not imply that he was not amazing, too.
Booking a Desert Safari Dubai
The safari in Dubai Desert starts at about $40 and lasts for at least four to five hours unless you reserve a safari overnight. I still prefer this Desert Safari Dubai, but if you visit Dubai, you should certainly have safari on your path.
