Famous for being considered the only 7-star hotel in the world and being built on an artificial island, the Burj Al Arab has quickly become a symbol of Dubai.
A place like the Burj Al Arab is capable of attracting both sheikhs willing to pay at least 2,000.00 USD per night, to backpackers looking to at least have a photograph from the outside. So the only way to separate curious customers is with your reservation system.
To enter the famous Vela hotel in Dubai you must have a reservation, either as a guest or as a client of one of its restaurants or the spa. There are companies that even offer the service of taking you to the hotel and making the reservation for you, however, it is not necessary.
Visiting the Burj Al Arab is not cheap, so if you are thinking of entering the hotel you should prepare to pay at least 150 AED (about 75 US dollars). This is the minimum consumption for visiting its Sky bar in the evening, one of the cheapest options.
The popular tea time at the Sky bar costs from 635 to 1030 AED (170 to 280 USD), depending on the type of menu and table chosen.
A tasting menu at Al Muntaha (27th floor of the hotel) costs from AED 980 (USD 266).
One more option is to go to dinner at Burj Al Arab and here I have a great option for you. There is the alternative of visiting 4 of the Burj Al Arab restaurants in the same night. It is the Culinary Flight in which each of the dinner times is served in a different restaurant of the famous hotel: Scape Restaurant, Al Mahara, Al Muntaha, and the Skyview Bar & Restaurant. Costs range from AED 994 to AED 1,750 (depending on the type of drinks).
This experience includes a visit to the restaurant, Al Mahara. One of the most peculiar in the world if we consider that it is under the surface of the sea of the Persian Gulf.
Friday brunch costs AED 695 ($ 190).
A 4-course meal at Al Muntaha with a drink (non-alcoholic) costs AED 600 (USD 163).
This gives you an idea of the “cheap” options to visit and eat at the Burj Al Arab, although of course budgets can easily be increased.
Travel tip. When you make your reservation they will ask you if you celebrate a special occasion, do not forget to mention it as you will have a surprise during your visit. For example, a cake on your birthday.
If you want to live the full experience at the Burj Al Arab you have to prepare to pay between USD 2,000 and USD 6,000 per night (from 40,000 to 120,000 Mexican pesos). The most “simple” rooms are suites with a capacity of 4 people: two adults and two children.
The simplest way to get to the Burj Al Arab is by taxi, although there are also options to get there by public transport. The hotel does not have a nearby metro station, but you can go to Mall of the Emirates (metro red line) and from there take a bus 81 that leaves you at Burj Al Arab.
If you want to visit the Burj Al Arab just from the outside to take some photos, I recommend that you do not go to the entrance. In the first place, because the parking lot is gated, so it will be difficult to take good photos. You will also find many people trying it, so the task will not be easy.
It is best to take pictures from the public Jumeirah Beach or from the Madinat Jumeirah, a shopping complex with great views of the Burj Al Arab.
